Introduce
The Institute of Industrial Art & Cultural Design and Management was established in year 2005, and the Cultural Industrial Department was established in 2006. In 2008 school year, approved by the Ministry of Education, the institute and the department was integrated and named “Department of Cultural Industries & Master Program of Industrial Art & Cultural Design and Management”.
With great sustainability and expansibility, “EMBA Service Education Master Program of Design Management” was added in 2008. In 2010, the name of the department was approved by the Ministry of Education as “Department of Cultural and Creative Industries Management”. In 2011, the name of the service education program was approved by the Ministry of Education as “EMBA Service Education Master Degree Program”.
The purposes of the department are to respond to the restructuring domestic industries, to train talents for the cultural and creative industry, to enhance the students’ thinking, analysis, judgment abilities and creativity, to equip them with multiple cultural and creative potentials and to prepare them with an positive attitude toward the needs for innovation in the field of diverse cultural and creative design management.
Also, as the national competiveness increasingly depends on the charm of the cities and the gathering of creative people and industries, the department’s goal is to promote charming cities and creative cities.
Student’s Future
Graduates from the department are equipped with the integration ability in aesthetics and management science, which enable them to satisfy the needs in related cultural industries. They may also apply for civil service examinations and domestic and overseas programs of master or Ph.D. degree.
